About Farm & Manor
A curated collection of hotels, estates, ranches, and vineyards whose character comes from the land they sit on — and the kitchens that land feeds.
Farm & Manor exists for a particular kind of place: the working vineyard with six rooms above the cellar, the cattle ranch that kept its bunkhouse, the manor whose walled garden still sets its menu. Places where the land is not scenery but the reason the place exists at all.
We are a small team based between Charlottesville, Virginia and London. We visit what we list, we say no often, and we would rather publish a short collection we believe in than a long one we do not.
Membership opens soon. Until then, the collection is being built quietly, property by property.
What we look for
A collection built on three convictions
Every property we consider is measured against the same three questions. Most places answer one of them well. We are interested in the few that answer all three.
Shaped by the land
The landscape came first and the building answered to it — not the other way around.
A table worth the journey
Kitchens fed by their own fields, orchards, and herds, cooking what the season allows.
Small by intention
Places run at a human scale, where restraint is a choice rather than a limitation.
